Total Endurance Time 68:28Hallo, 'scopers! Twice in my life, I've known people return cds under the impression that they are faulty. One of these was an ex girlfriend who, on hearing the vinyl crackle at the beginning of
Erotica by Madonna, immediately decided the disc was all broken up and returned it for a refund. No, seriously. The other instance was a cousin of mine, now sadly passed away, who returned a copy of System Of A Down's
Toxicity, thinking the stop-start intro to 'Prison Song' was a fault in the mastering process(his words. Really.)
I don't talk to either of them anymore, one for obvious reasons(being dead, innit), so I cannot gauge what their reaction to
Welcome To Execrate would be. A compilation of tracks from twisted brainwrongs such as 2nd Gen, Hrvatski, Stock, Hausen and Walkman, V/Vm and of course S^JN themselves, it's a lovely collection of distorted, warped, shifted and locked grooves, strangely danceable at times, melodic at others, pulverizing at other others.
I myself have only considered returning a faulty cd once - a copy of
Incunabula by Autechre, bought many years ago at the Carlisle branch of HMV. 'Kalpol Introl' has loads of skippy, glitchy artifacts that I don't think are supposed to be there.
I'm not uploading that though. So ner.
